Find something you’re passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.

Quote of the Day

I just finished a book talking about the purpose of existence, how to find it and what changes it will have in you to know it (John, Strelecky, Das Café am Rande der Welt. Eine Erzaehlung ueber den Sinn des Lebens. Muenchen: 2023 ). The question “Why are you here?” was the center of the dialog. Why is it so hard to answer this simple question? Are we not passionate about things anymore? My answer is, “no, not at all.” When I walk through the city park, when I scroll through my Facebook threat or listen to conversations in my circle, I can feel the passion of people. I would almost say people are more passionate. The world seems colorful, full of fun and possibilities. But the passion people share is more scattered in many topics in an only surface-scratching way. Every moment of our day we are confronted by ideas, inspirations, and expectations. We are surrounded by Pinterest, Instagram, commercials and social media influenced conversations which introduce us with new things and life changing thoughts that can be done by everyone (so, they say…). At the end, we see ourselves starting something new. It feels like THE thing, we can’t wait to start it, tell our friends and family. This all is happening in our head at first. Then we might research online, review feedbacks, … and the first questions arise quickly, our natural skeptic kicks in, multiplied by the hundred different voices we just researched on the internet. We might not give up just there and tell a friend about our idea in full passion. But what is with the next step of realization? Will we stick with it, or will we get distracted by another idea or life changing thought that we get high jacked through the “new” channels of everyday life?

I believe we are passionate humans, maybe even more than in the past. Inspired by the resources we are able to access freely at any given time. However, to dive deep into it, with our full trust in our purpose, which is exposed to us right now in this phase of our life, is the true challenge. I see it as a skill to shut the voices off and listen to your inner voice, your intuition, and to have the bravery to make the next step in making it real. Don’t let the voices in, find your “quiet”, connect with the earth, feel your passion, and bring the “you” into it – You are everything you need, you are IT, and the rest will show up when you glow with passion. So, glow and show the world why you are here right at this moment.
